How to Perform

  1. Stand in the first square with the feet hip-width apart.
  2. Jump forward into the next square while rotating one hundred and eighty degrees.
  3. Land balanced on both feet, absorb briefly, and immediately jump again rotating the other way.
  4. Continue to the end of the ladder alternating the direction of rotation.

Coaching Cues

  • “Turn the hips, then let the shoulders follow.”
  • “Land balanced before you leave again.”
  • “Same rotation quality both directions.”

Common Mistakes

  • Landing with a rotated knee, which is the highest-risk position in the drill.
  • Rotating only one direction, which builds an asymmetry.

Progressions & Regressions

Progressions
Add a hold on each landing, then progress to a 360-degree version, then perform it on a reactive call.
Regressions
Perform quarter turns instead of half turns.

When to Use It

When to use
Warm-ups, foot-speed and coordination blocks, and low-load days between heavy sessions.
When not to use
Acute lower-limb injury, or when the pattern cannot be completed without stumbling.
Programming
4–6 passes per pattern, 2–4 patterns per session, full recovery between passes.
