How to Perform

  1. Anchor a light band at head height and loop it around the back of the head with padding.
  2. Step away until there is gentle tension in the band.
  3. Set the chin lightly tucked and the trunk braced.
  4. Hold the head still against the band tension without moving.
  5. Hold for the prescribed time, breathing steadily.
  6. Repeat facing the other three directions.

Coaching Cues

  • Use light tension, the head should not move.
  • Keep the chin lightly tucked, not jammed down.
  • Build time and tension very gradually.

Common Mistakes

  • Using heavy bands too early.
  • Letting the head move through range under load.
  • Holding the breath.
