How to Perform

  1. Lift the kicking knee to the side with the shin folded back.
  2. Pivot the support foot and rotate the hip so the knee points at the target.
  3. Snap the lower leg through, striking with the instep or the ball of the foot.
  4. Recoil the shin to the chamber and set down in a stable stance.

Coaching Cues

  • “Chamber to the side, then rotate the hip.”
  • “Snap and recoil on the same line.”
  • “Pivot the support foot fully.”

Common Mistakes

  • Swinging the leg without a chamber, which produces a slow arc.
  • Failing to pivot the support foot, which restricts hip rotation.

Progressions & Regressions

Progressions

Regressions
