How to Perform

  1. Start close to a kick shield or a partner holding pads.
  2. Deliver a horizontal elbow, then flow directly into an upward elbow on the other side.
  3. Continue into downward and rearward elbows, keeping the hands close to your own body.
  4. Maintain continuous contact for the whole set rather than resetting between strikes.

Coaching Cues

  • “One elbow feeds the next.”
  • “Hands stay close to your own chest.”
  • “No pausing to assess.”

Common Mistakes

  • Stopping between strikes, which trains hesitation.
  • Reaching so the forearm lands instead of the elbow point.

Progressions & Regressions

Progressions
Add movement, then add knees between elbows, then add partner pressure and verbal stress.
Regressions
Work two angles only, slowly, on a shield.

When to use
Pad rounds, bag rounds and shadow rounds once the individual strikes are competent.
When not to use
Before the component strikes can be thrown correctly in isolation.
Programming
4–6 sets of 20–30 seconds of continuous striking with 60 seconds rest.
