Overview

Purpose. Build forearm endurance and balanced wrist flexor and extensor strength.

How to Perform

  1. Hold the roller handle at chest or shoulder height with the arms extended.
  2. Roll the rope up by alternately flexing each wrist until the weight reaches the handle.
  3. Reverse the direction and lower the weight under control.
  4. That is one set — rest before repeating.

Coaching Cues

  • "Arms stay still, wrists do the work."
  • "Control the way down as well."
  • "Keep the elbows soft, not locked."

Common Mistakes

  • Using the elbows and shoulders to turn the handle.
  • Letting the weight drop on the way down.

Add load, or raise the arms to overhead.

Reduce load, or rest the elbows on a bench.

Elbow health, forearm hypertrophy and grip endurance.

Acute wrist or lateral elbow pain.
