How to Perform

  1. Throw a fast lead-leg roundhouse or cut kick to provoke a reaction.
  2. As the opponent counters or steps in, begin the turn and spot the target over the shoulder.
  3. Deliver the back kick straight into their advancing body.
  4. Complete the rotation, land facing them and reset the distance.

Coaching Cues

  • “The first kick is bait, not the score.”
  • “Spot before the leg goes.”
  • “Land facing them.”

Common Mistakes

  • Committing fully to the first kick, which leaves no time to turn.
  • Turning without spotting, which produces a blind and inaccurate kick.
